Barrier Automation

Barriers are generally installed to sites to prevent unauthorised entry and exit.

There are many types to suit each varying situation. There are 24volt low duty barriers that are a light commercial type with 3-4 metre boom to the fully skirted 100% duty rated commercial/industrial types.

Varying boom speeds from 0.8 seconds for a super rapid 3metre barrier to the fully skirted 100% duty rated at 8.3 seconds.

All barriers come fully fitted with the correct safety devices for the particular installation, these can comprise of loop detection for Free Exit and safety or Safety Beams or indeed a combination of both.

Flashing LED lights and signage is also used as a visual warning.

Audible warning devices are also available should the barrier be sited close to a path or walkway.

Automated Barriers require a certain amount of ground works to be carried out either by a preferred contractor or us.

The type and size of barrier required will be estimated by our surveyor

Gate Automation

These fall into three general categories.

1. Existing Gates that require automation

2. New Gate Installations

3. Sliding Gates.

Bat Automation supply and install products that comply with the EN standards for maximum impact force established by EN12445 & EN12453 Technical Regulations

1. electronic gates

Existing Gates that require automation are generally fitted with external above ground RAMS , these are either Electromechanical or Hydraulic, the former is mainly used on small residential gates such as 5 Bar type Gates.

Hydraulic Rams are used on larger wooden gate and ornamental metal gates.

2.

New Gate installations are mainly fitted with underground operators, these are installed in two stages, firstly the ground works and foundation box for the operators are fitted, and secondly the automation takes place this is normally done over a period of 1-2 weeks to allow for the concrete to cure that surround the foundation boxes.

3. electronic gates

Sliding Gate Installations are found mainly due to operating restrictions of the above 2. These can either be Cantilever ( without track ) or Tracked across the opening , cantilever are becoming more popular due to tracked types becoming clogged with leaves , grit and dirt the tracked type need more maintenance than the cantilever. Both types need a foundation plate and footings to ensure correct operation.

The type and specification will be assessed by our surveyor at the site visit.

Most gate operators are now available in 24 v versions , allowing these systems to be fitted with battery back up, to allow operation even in the event of power failure.

These are also 100% duty rated for intensive use.

Garage Door Automation

The humble garage door is not with-out its problems.

Is your garage door awkward to open or close, is it too heavy to lift.

We have installed many garage door openers to the elderley or infirm who find the garage door now to heavy to open.

electronic gatesMost garage doors can now be automated the most common being the Up& Over Door, these together with other types can now be fitted with automation, even outward opening double doors.

To ensure the correct operation of the openers our surveyor will check the manual operation of the door, should it prove to need lubrication this will also be carried out upon installation of a system.

All Equipment comes with safety devices already installed within the operator, anti-crushing, obstacle detection, battery back-up and remote fobs.

Our FAAC D600 operator has a 600Nm force motor, man enough for most residential garage doors , heavier doors and some larger double garage doors would have the D1000 operator having 1000nm of force capable of opening virtually any size garage door.

These systems benefit from being extremly safe and reliable, they have proven technology and the remote fobs ( zappers ) are now of a small size and up to date with their apperance .

electronic gates

The chain or belt is now fully enclosed within its own single piece track , this proves to be extremly safe and reliable.

Many old systems are open to dirt and dust sometimes causing failure.

New style remote fobs can also be installed to older systems allowing for broken or faulty units to be replaced with universal fobs.

The new fobs have a rolling code , which means they cannot be copied, as the code changes every time its used , very secure!

The automation can be installed to most garages that have a power outlet ,indeed if no power is available a suitable power outlet or Fused Spur could also be installed .

Access Control

BAT can supply and install a wide variety of Access Control rangeing from the cost effective wired door entry type systems to Weigand card and proximity systems.

The basic systems are wired between a door or gate automation and the property, allowing two way conversations between the caller and the host.

However many systems are now wireless and involve no cables, although they do require a local power source for the door/gate station.

Proving to be increasingly popular is the innovative ‘Telguard’ system, the latest of which are the GSM Units.

These units operate on the Mobile Phone Networks and allow the caller to dial the premises phone, the host can pick up any house phone and grant access to the caller (if needed).

It operates very much like having a mobile phone by the gate or access point.

The system can if the house phone is engaged or unattended call a mobile phone of your choice to call anywhere in the world, allowing the host to grant access.

Most operate on a ‘Pay as you Go ‘ SIM Card with a monthly allowance of calls these can have up to 500 calls to the house phone per month, allowing up to 500 opening/ closing cycles of the gates or doors.

These systems can also have keypads or proximity reader fitted allowing Family children or staff safe access to there home or workplace.

We are also installers of Paxton access equipment, providing us with the most effective range of access control equipment.

BAT is a registered installer of TELGUARD
